Encounters on a Cruise

When my mother went on a cruise ship with her friends. She reserved a high class room, but it was full, so they invited her to stay in a top class room usually reserved for regular customers.

When they went to dinner or some other meal. There were always many wealthy people there. After coming back they said they should have spoken in English much more. They regretted not speaking English. In my mother's case, she could understand a little English because my father was very keen on studying English and she often travelled abroad and accepted host students.

I over heard that, and although I can’t use a first class room on a cruise, I would like to speak English with foreign people so I started to learn English.
