An incident on the street

When I was in Kyoto for an exhibition more than 20 years ago. I met a woman who was carrying a suitcase on the street in the early evening. She was a visitor from overseas, so she asked me the way to go to her hotel. But I wasn’t familiar with Kyoto and I couldn’t speak English well. I replied to her that I was a visitor too. I was really sorry that I couldn’t give her directions around Kyoto, and I couldn’t speak English well. It’s one of the reasons for learning English.
